Should I keep posting during a heatwave (or holidays, or slow weeks)?

I know it’s been boiling AF here in the UK/ Europe. It has been a lot and you can barely catch your breath, and life is simply a sweaty attempt at working whilst praying you can sit inside a freezer until the heat subsides.

But that doesn’t mean your business has suddenly disappeared or it doesn’t need your full attention just because you’re melting.

The holidays, celebrations, life distractions and a sudden heatwave has a way of creeping into our psyche and making us think that it’s not still imperative to keep talking about your business, as though it was a standard working day. Because it still is a working day for most of us, and especially your customers, who are still looking for what you do and sell.

Also: mention it: talk about the unbearable heat. Make a joke out of it, one that is relevant for your business and how it helps your customers. If it’s the holidays offer a discount where necessary and if it makes sense.

There’s not point carrying on as usual without addressing the elephant in the room; customers want to hear your take on the matter, whether that’s festivities, a break, covid, Brexit, Trump being in charge, or surprising weather.

Remember: your customers are human, they get upheaval and surprises as much as you do, just don’t let it cloud your vision of ability to work at a level your customers expect. It’s professional, but also ideal for them (and you, financially speaking).

So continue, business as usual.
